Dana's images are a unique combination of urban/industrial snapshots, careful camera work, creative strobe, and light painting techniques.  The evocative impact of his pictures, as with all light painting, comes from a creative human interpretation of an environment; a responding to physical sensations and integrating creative visions with the environment to distill down a complex series of events into a single image.  Dana is manipulating light to express technically an intangible emotion, to elicit an emotional response. The process of creating an image with a "psychic imprint" of a creative vision is magic, and the moment that someone feels that emotion when they see your picture is magic.  What exists between the image and the viewer?  What transpires between the image and the viewer and where is the artist in that space?  How does the mind of the artist imprint itself into the mind of the viewer? We're going to see what Dana has to say about these ideas and more when we hear from him in Luminary.
